Escalated to PayPay recently which lead to refund.

Original review Mar 06, 2015
21/12/14 Ordered $1800 in gift cards from KareKard (expected a delay due to Christmas period etc) 19/01/15 Requested an order status; got feedback from Lily on 23/01 that my order would be dispatched the following week 09/02/15 Send them a note to let them know that I hadn't received the cards; no feedback 16/02/15 Sent another note asking for a new status especially as they were selling new cards with a 3 week delivery window; got feedback from Lily on 19/02 asking to confirm if my order had arrived as order 'in transit' status. I replied immediately that I hadn't but that I'd wait a couple of days 27/02/15 Sent a note to clearly indicate that I was still waiting and becoming concerned; no reply 03/03/15 Sent a note requesting urgent assistance or a phone number to call; it's 06/03 and still no reply I will not be repeating the same mistake for a small discount and a company without a phone number - it's not worth the lost time and frustration. If I order the same thing via Entertainment book (or similar), I have a gift card emailed within 2 hours.

Hi everyone.

I was in the same boat as you.

I FINALLY got a refund yesterday.

My advice is to do below if you want a refund:

1. Email info@***.com.au AND accounts@***.com.au AND support@***.com.au.

2.

You must send email to accounts@***.com.au requesting and authorising FULL REFUND of your order or they will not proceed. 3. Provide your BSB and account number and your account name in this email. 4.

Put your order number in the title, amount owed and wording FULL AUTHORITY TO REFUND. 5.Accounts contact person name is Belinda so address emails to Lily and Belinda. 6. Forward your refund email EVERY DAY to the email addresses in point 1 and put date at top.

7.

Stick with it, they will refund if you continue to request. Suz Fischer - Adelaide

Same thing happened to me. I am yet to receive the gift cards I bought 16 Dec 14 for delivery in Jan 15, despite numerous emails to/from Kare Kard.

They give lots of excuses, then say numerous times they will send replacements & then say numerous times that they will give refund - have received neither cards nor refund to date & they stopped communicating 6 Mar 15. (Thanks for nothing Lily, Customer Care!).

Now in the process of going through my Bank to get a chargeback. I will NEVER use them again & have warned my friends & family against using them.

Terrible customer service! Don't buy with this company!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Initially I ordered a gift card mid last year, the postage time was terrible over 6 weeks but did eventually come. I then ordered $1000 of gift cards in late November 2014 giving them the benefit of the doubt. Still no gift cards despite many emails to which they rarely reply. Initially they said they were in transit 'to who knows where!' Then over a month ago they offered a full refund which I have still not received despite numerous emails with no reply! Please don't buy anything off this company. Terrible customer service & I fear I have now lost my money!

Ditto - bought $1000 worth of gift cards in Dec, which Belinda said were returned to them in the post - although I never received a registered post slip or reminder in the mail, nor have they been able to provide me with the original registered post number. Nor did they contact me when they 'apparently' received them back, but just left the order unaccounted for until I had sent several emails questioning them about it.

Still waiting for them to resend.

Hi Ammiddleton.

I was in the same boat as you. I finally got my refund on 23/04/15 aftter placing my order on the 10th of December 2014.

Did you send an appoval email to accounts@***.com.au giving your full authority for the refund?

I know this sounds *** once they offered the refund but I found out after 2 weeks that they needed an email my approving FULL authority. In this email I gave my order reference, my bank details (BSB, Acc No (this needs to be 9 digits - add zeros at start if yours is less than 9 digits) and the name of our account.)

My advice to you is to email them EVERY DAY.

I send the email to ALL of the following email addresses: info@***.com.au

accounts@***.com.au support@***.com.au I put the date at the start of the subject line and FULL authority to refund Order No #xxxxx. I then forwarded the same email EVERY day and changed the date in the subject- this keeps a record in case this dispute. I simply send it every day.

I did get emails back from Lily (info@) and Belinda (accounts@) very irregularly. Belinda told me via email that they tried to refund me the money about 5 weeks ago - but they put my WRONG SURNAME which meant it got rejected by the bank - my bank checked and there was no such rejection.

Try the above - it worked for me! SFischer

Thankyou SFischer

I will try this and email daily, it is just such bad customer service!

I'm glad that you got your money back, it gives me hope that I will receive mine back too.

Thanks again

If you paid by PayPal, lodge a complaint with PayPal, and then request the complaint be escalated to a claim. PayPal recovered the money from Kare kard and I received a refund in 10 working days, whereas trying to deal with Kare kard was going nowhere. They just ignored my emails.

Waiting on gift cards

2 months since ordering. Emailed them twice. No reply. No phone number to contact them either. Would not be buying from them in the future. I am just about to put a dispute in on my credit card. Then when they payment is taken from them they may listen. If you are considering buying from them think twice as it appears that they dont KARE about customers, just accept your payment then dont want to know you. Anyone else in 2015 had a similar drama buying anything from them? They also offer travel now, I wonder if the service is as slack if you buy that from them.

Kare Kard.. No complaints here... Positive review!

I joined Kare Kard after seeing their high recommendations and reviews on Australian review sites. Have saved the value of my membership already. I paid $49.95 for the program and easily joined online and instantly they gave me access to the discounts. I always get grocery gift cards through Kare Kard. I get 5% off Coles and Woolworths gift cards, and seeing how I shop at those supermarkets anyway, why wouldn't I? The other discounts add up quickly – movie tickets, online shopping and I even really like reading the " Kare Courier" blog posts! Motivation Monday gets me going each week. No complaints here… Positive review for Kare Kard.

$300 in gift cards not received

I ordered $300 in gift cards on 18th October. I had a confirming email, then silence. Nothing at all for a month. On 19th November I emailed them to ask the whereabouts of my order. No response from KareKard. I emailed again on 24th November to again ask what had happened. This time I did receive a reply, to say there had been a "slightly longer than normal dispatch (sic) time in this instance" but telling me that they would be sending my order that week. It's nine days later and surprise surprise, I've received nothing. I've just lodged a credit card transaction dispute with my bank. KareKard is not recommended!

Im happy with Kare Kard

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I order from Kare Kard a fair bit. Gift cards and movie tickets. It takes anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks for delivery which they state on the website prior to ordering. In some instances I've waited nearly 4 weeks with public holidays over Christmas. They have told me its because they order on demand and then security track all the cards in case they go missing and this is why it takes a little longer than usual. I'm ok with that because if you read the terms and conditions on there site - they guarantee that if something does go missing ( and lets face it - it is like sending cash in the mail ) they they will replace it. I just work around the delivery times to make sure I account for the wait time. Most of these comments are about delivery times - seems like everyone received there gift cards so it looks like a case of getting Kare Kard to look at turnaround times for delivery or people should take this in to account when ordering and it states the estimated delivery times. I'm happy with them and have been a member for a few years. I don't think they would have been around for so long if they were dodgy.

Incompetent Liars

Like other posters, I ordered a gift card that never arrived. I also received an email from a Sophie who claimed to have sent the gift card yet did not provide any tracking number or other proof, despite having paid for tracking. Also had the arrogance to say that no money had been used on the card as if I had tried to spend it. Subsequent emails were ignored by Kare Kard and my gift card only magically appeared after I launched a PayPal dispute and escalated it to a claim. Stay away from these crooks, it's a wonder they're still in business.

Still waiting for gift cards

Unfortunately a year after my first order where my cards got 'lost in the mail' I stupidly gave Kare Kard another chance thinking the order would be processed faster second time around. After ordering $400 worth of cards in April I still haven't received them. It's not worth the stress and frustration of chasing and waiting for the gift cards, and the lack of response from Kare Kard to warrant dealing with this company. I ordered 8/04 and was told on 13/05 they were being sent that week. My email sent on 10/06 bounced and I'm still waiting for a response from my last email sent 30/06.

"$250" Travel rewards unusable, still waiting on delivery of gift cards (2+ months)

Got an email offering "$250" reward dollars to spend on a holiday upon resubscription. To use these dollars you need to use their particular booking website/system. The "$250" cannot be used in one transaction - only a portion on each booking. Essentially you can book the same hotel cheaper somewhere else as they jack up their price above other websites and then offer your credit use on a portion of this price increase. Also, similar to other complaints on this website - have ordered $800+ in grocery gift cards (mid May) and am still waiting (now mid-July). I have contacted them several times regarding the delivery of these cards and they have only responded to my most recent inquiry... I presume the cards will come eventually but it's a long (and nervous!) wait!

Don't deal with this company

I ordered a Coles and a Woolworth gift card on 29-June-13 and still have not received the cards after close to two months. I have just sent my third email to info@***.com.au complaining that their service is totally unacceptable. The last email took them 12 days to reply with the same excuse as in the past of "There was a slight problem with some emails being delayed in our system". The fact that this company does not provide a Customer Support phone number means you cannot call them, and you cannot chase after them since they are not responding to emails as well! This is the worst online company that I have experienced.

Kare Kard Review

This is my experience with Kare Kard. You can be the judge as to whether you want to fork out cash up front to become a member. Day 1 – Ordered and paid for a $500 gift card for one of the major grocery chains. Paid the extra for signature on delivery as the terms of use on the website state “Kare Kard can not take responsibility for any Gift Card, Vouchers or Tickets that are misplaced, lost or stolen when being sent through Australia Post”. Confirmation of purchase was immediately received via email. Day 16 – I hadn’t received the item or any further information so I submitted an enquiry form on their website. The only phone number for them goes to a message that says they don’t monitor it and you should use the form on the website. Day 19 AM – I hadn’t received a reply to my enquiry form lodgment so I emailed them directly. Day 19 PM – Reply received to say they didn’t get the enquiry form (even though I got to the confirmation screen that said they would get back to me within 48 hours). The email response said the item was due to be dispatched tomorrow and that I would be sent the postage tracking number also tomorrow. Day 27 – Still hadn’t received item or any communication from Kare Kard so I emailed them again. Day 31 - I hadn’t received any personal response but they sent out an automatic email to say my order had been completed. I replied to ask for the tracking number. Day 33 – Received a ‘sorry we missed you’ card in my letterbox from the courier even though I was home at the time. I had to collect the item from the post office. I never received the tracking number from Kare Kard and the last communication I had from them was two weeks ago.
